A very common trend on the internet right now is doing the whole, 30 things I’ve learned in 30 years.
Well, today is my birthday and I am turning 25, so what a great opportunity to create a 25 things in 25 years list! But I’m not going to do that. I’m going to go for quality over quantity.
Instead, I am going to list some of the most important things I can think of that have really stuck with me up to this point in my life, so here we go.
Scared money don’t make money
If you are going to be successful in anything, you have to just go do it. If you want to win, you have to play – plain and simple. Say yes to things you might not be ready for, and do everything you can to learn, learn, learn, along the way. Take chances.
You won’t actually ‘start tomorrow’
Too many times in my life I have employed the ‘I’ll start on Monday’ strategy. Too many times, I never did. I have been fairly disciplined and done what I know I have needed to do in order to stay productive and healthy, but part of having a drive to get better is exactly that – I always want to get better. From here on out I know for a fact I will do a better job of beginning something immediately, and committing to it with everything I have.
No two people are the same
Just because something works really well for someone else, doesn’t mean it will work for you – or that it is the only way to do it. We all know how unique we are, and this is no different when it comes to systems and methods that help us become healthy and successful. Find what works best for you and roll with it.
Coffee is great
I love coffee. Black coffee. I drink it every single day. It tastes great and it helps me in so many ways.
The secret to success is consistent action
All you have to do is DO THINGS, and do them over and over again. You can learn anything. You can accomplish anything. But you have to actually take action and continue to take action.
Find your purpose and motivation wherever you need to
And as I mentioned above, no two people are the same. What motivates someone else might not work for another person. This is going to be totally unique to you!
The power of the Universe (God) is so real
What you think about and focus on is what you will attract, whether it is positive or negative. Your thoughts have a great power that will bring whatever they create in to your life. If you want something, ask for it, and then go get it. Karma also plays a part in this. What you put out is what you are going to get! If you are polite and loving, you will see more of that in the world.
There are more correlations between football and real life than you can ever imagine
People tend to mock sports as ‘just a game,’ but I swear to you football is so much more than that. Teamwork, discipline, effort, intelligence, communication, and more than I can even name. Having been a part of this sport for almost my entire life, I can swear up and down that it is one of the best ways to develop someone as an entire person.
NCAA 14 is the best video game ever made
I love it and wish I could play it all day every day. I did while I was in college, but I am an adult now so unfortunately that won’t fly.
If you don’t look back at yourself on almost a yearly basis and think ‘Wow, I was an idiot,’ you might not be growing
Idiot is a little harsh, but you get my point. You should be getting better each and every year and when you look back on yourself, you should realize how much you wish you knew. If this stops happening for you, you likely are no longer getting better.
Do what you love and what makes you happy
This will be my last one, as it is probably the most popular and the most simple. If you don’t like what you are doing, do something else. Make changes you need to make to make your life what you want it to be. You are in control!
Here is to another great 25 years!
We all have experienced the back and forth relationship between pushing and pulling in our lives at some point.
When we want a girl, she doesn’t want us back. Then when we don’t want her anymore, she seems to want us.
When you are going out of your way to find a certain pair of shoes in your house you might have no idea where they are, but the next day when you have totally forgot about your search, they pop up right in front of you.
As many of you know I, along with two business partners, have purchased an online exercise supplement company called New Dimension Supplement Club.
In the process of our takeover there has been a lot of new stuff put on my plate that I have had no prior experience with. In these situations I tend to do pretty well and that is partly why I was excited to take the leap and begin this venture.
The more time goes by, the more tasks I have to complete, the deeper I get in to the world of e-commerce, the less I find out I know.
It has been taking a pretty good toll on me and I have been getting a little bit more upset than I probably should. After hours and hours of clicking yourself in circles and accomplishing nothing, sometimes I need to step away.
I take the stress off of myself by disconnecting from my desire to obtain a true understanding. When I completely clear myself of the stress, somehow, I suddenly know exactly what I need to do.
If I call it a night and go to bed, I often times wake up in the morning and get back on the computer to work again and magically click all of the right buttons and end up in the ever elusive locations I needed and stressed about just the night before.
I’m realizing that when I am stressed and upset about something, my energy I put out isn’t the energy I need to bring good in to my life. My vibration is too worried about what I can’t find, what I don’t know, that what I need to find is struggling to appear in front of me.
It can be easy to sit and sulk in our negativity, but stepping back and removing ourselves from the situation and from the negativity can give us the refreshing energy we need to obtain what we originally needed.
What I want you to take away from this is to not fight stress. It is okay to step back, press pause for a second, clear your head and your energy, and get after it again.
You will find that the silence and ease of your break will open up your vibrations to what you’ve been looking for the whole time.
It can be extremely difficult to stay calm when it seems like walls are closing in around you and you think everything is about to hit the fan. That is the most important time to stay calm though.
By staying calm, you keep your vibrations where they need to be for you to be open to what the universe has to give you.
If you are too high strung and anxious, the negative energy that comes with those states of being deflects, instead of accepts.
This may sound a little bit off the wall at first, but I can promise you, and tell you that from personal experience, this is exactly the case.
When you are facing a change in life, or there is an impending obstacle that you know may bring with it a little bit of difficulty, your ability to stay calm and accept the situation is what will allow you to come out on top.
Am I saying that staying calm and letting life happen will mean that only good things will happen to you? No.
We all know that there are times in life that we don’t get treated how we want to by the world around us. Just know in those times where you feel like you are being defeated, all that is happening around you is happening to set up success and happiness later.
It is all testing you and preparing you and building you up.
It may hurt in the moment, it may be scary, and it might even set you back a few steps, but what is so bad about that?
If you face something and you lose a little bit of money…guess what? There’s plenty of more days to make the money back.
Everything that happens in your life is there to teach you and prepare you for the events to come. How you handle each situation, especially the tough ones, will determine the situations that you are given in the future.
So always remember that no matter what is coming your way, to stay calm and know that all that is about to happen in your life is happening FOR you not TO you. It is all there to help you level up and help you grow, so sit back, stay calm, and let yourself grow.
A rainstorm may be frightening to a flower, and the rain may hurt and the thunder may be loud, but the flower grows more from a rainstorm than it does from a sunny day.
Now that you are this far in this post you may be asking HOW to stay calm, and if you are that is excellent.
I will tell you exactly how I do it, and I will tell you a short non-detailed story that recently happened to me that is pushing me to write this.
I have a big change in my life coming up within the next week, and I recently experienced a small bump in the road that could have potentially taken quite a bit of money out of my hands when I need it most.
The news came to me that I might be missing out on a paycheck, and instead of letting a pit develop in my stomach and some negative thoughts creep in to my head, my first thought was about how if that is the case I would be able to sell some things or pick up an extra job and make some extra money.
It wasn’t about how screwed I’ll be if I miss out on that paycheck, it was simply about opening up myself to other opportunities if needed.
I constantly told myself, and other people close to me, that I’ll be able to work it out and everything will be alright.
That is exactly what I tell myself to stay calm.
‘It’ll be alright’
And I know that sounds a little too simple to really work, but if you believe in your soul that no matter the situation, everything will workout in your favor and benefit you in the end, it really will.
Sometimes you have to trick yourself in to calmness as well. If it doesn’t come to you naturally, you have to fake it till you make it and force yourself to believe it. Tell yourself over and over that it will be alright in the end.
Let your frequency match up with what the universe has planned for you.
Slow yourself down. Slow down your thoughts and open up to what is coming to you. If you are calm and available, everything will be able to come to you much easier than if you are anxious and nervous.
But most importantly, the best way to allow all of this to happen is to quit worrying about things that are out of your control.
Like I mentioned the flower and the rainstorm, does it do any good for the flower to worry about when the rain will stop? Absolutely not.
The flower will be much better off enjoying the hydration and knowing that the water will nourish the roots and help it grow and continue to be healthy.
Sit back, let everything come to you, and let what the universe brings to you nourish your soul and help you grow, because that is exactly what it wants to do.
