Writing Prompt 1/20/2020: Sun

Beneath the flowers and the stems,

lie the roots and weeds to condemn.

You look so pretty up top,

underneath are you clean or a dirty workshop.

You must dig to find out,

look in every corner for why you may doubt.

Shackles and chains,

always deny what you wish to attain.

Grab a flashlight and look for the dark,

make it light and get it right.

Writing Prompt 1/18/2020: The Oasis

Writing Prompt 1/18/2020: The Oasis

The day will soon come when you develop your self.

The night will soon come when you un-develop.

The morning will soon come when you re-develop.

The day will soon come when you un-develop.

The night will soon come when you re-develop.

The whole of your life will never be fully, but the path of your soul will always be lovely.

It may hurt and you may not belong.

But we all do, or nobody would.

The Oasis waits, come one or come all.

The Oasis waits, but without you will not exist.

Why I Love the Phrase ‘Fake it Til You Make it’ and How it Plays in to the Law of Attraction

Why I Love the Phrase ‘Fake it Til You Make it’ and How it Plays in to the Law of Attraction

Just yesterday I was having a conversation with some of the people that I work with about the phrase ‘fake it til you make it.’

A couple people were siding with the term, and a couple people were in disagreement with it.

Personally, I am a huge fan of it. With a caveat.

Disclaimer here, I don’t think that if your goal is to make a million dollars in a year that you should go around spending money on expensive cars and watches. To me ‘fake it til you make it’ doesn’t mean pretend to be something you are not.

I can definitely see how someone would interpret it this way, and this is the argument that one of the people was using against it.

They don’t like the word fake.

‘Fake it til you make it’ seems dishonest to them, and I can totally understand where they are coming from.

But if you shift your perspective on the phrase just a little bit, it takes on a whole new meaning and power.

To me, it means simply to truly internalize the person that you see achieving your goals, and be that person.

I have to think, work, speak, and live like a millionaire if I want to be one, but obviously not materialistically. I don’t have the means to do that yet.

When I think of faking it I think of it in terms of basically tricking myself in to becoming the person that I want to be, and I see no problem with that.

Don’t just take the words for what they are. Just like real life, we will all interpret things differently based on our beliefs and our past experiences.

Look at the quote and attach your own meaning to it, a meaning that will benefit you and help you grow. You have the choice to feel a certain way when you hear different things, and this quote is no exception for me.

I try to talk to myself in my head like I am already where I want to be.

I try to imagine situations in my life as if I were already where I want to be.

I try to look in to the future as I would if I were already where I want to be.

For me, it comes down to believing something in to existence, and not so much faking.

If I teach myself to think like I am already a millionaire, I will naturally attract things that will put me on a better path to becoming a millionaire.

(The Law of Attraction is a topic for a different day)

So now that you know how I define the term ‘fake it til you make it’, I want you to take a look at some different things in your life that can help you if you just shift your perception of it a little bit.

Thanks.
